Fortuné told not to worry about lack of goals
Albion boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he will tell striker Marc-Antoine Fortuné not to worry about not scoring goals.
The 30-year old is in his second spell at the club and has struggled since returning from Celtic last summer but after a successful short loan spell with Championship side Doncaster Rovers he has taken his opportunity with both hands.
All that has been lacking from his game in recent weeks has been a goal and Hodgson is keen for Fortuné not to concern himself with his goalscoring record but concentrate on retaining his good form.
Hodgson proud after Chelsea victoryAlbion boss Roy Hodgson has admitted his side can feel very proud of an impressive performance that saw them beat Chelsea 1-0 at The Hawthorns yesterday. An 82nd minute goal from close range for Gareth McAuley was enough to earn all three points and put the Baggies 13 points clear of the relegation zone with 11 games remaining. The defeat has cost Andre Villas-Boas his job as manager at Chelsea after the club announced this morning that he has been sacked but he was very complimentary to Albion claiming they were 'far superior' to his side. Hodgson now looking upAfter seeing his Albion side secure six valuable points in their last two games with a 5-1 win in the Black Country derby two weeks ago and a 4-0 win over in-form Sunderland yesterday Roy Hodgson is now looking up the table and not worrying about the threat of relegation. The Baggies are now on 32 points after 26 games and have improved their goal difference massively with an 11 point gap between themselves and the drop zone. With that in mind Roy Hodgson believes that his side should be looking above them and pushing for a top-10 finish even though there are some extremely tough fixtures coming up. |
