Cox looking for payback
Simon Cox has revealed that he is hoping to get some payback on Swansea City for the 3-0 drubbing dished out to the Baggies earlier in the season at the Liberty Stadium.
The Republic of Ireland international believes it will be a tough game against Brendon Rodgers's side who have taken to Premier League football like a duck to water with some very impressive performances and earning equally as impressive results after gaining promotion through the playoffs last year.
Now Cox is looking to turn around the Baggies dismal recent home form with a victory over the Welsh side.
"They're a newly-promoted team and you know what they do," said Cox.
"They play 4-3-3 and are a very good passing side, and they're one the teams you have to try to get as close as you can to.
"Looking at their results lately they have surprised a lot of teams and they probably should have beaten Chelsea on Tuesday.
"But they will come to us and we will hope to put in a better performance than we did there.
"Obviously we don't want to be beaten twice by any one team in the Premier League - that hurts even more.
"This year we want to be a team that doesn't get beaten away from home and our form at the moment is quite good.
"We try to nick points from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
"But with no disrespect we want to try to impose our football on the likes of Norwich, Swansea and Fulham."
Cox has also taken the time to try and describe Somen Tchoyi after the Cameroon international made an instant impact from the bench to score the equaliser against Fulham in midweek.
The 24-year-old striker believes that the unpredictability of Tchoyi can be a potent weapon to bring on from the bench in tight games.
"Somen is sometimes very frustrating," Cox added.
"We see it day in, day out in training and sometimes he's not the best player - but he is always popping up with goals.
"And sometimes that's a good quality to have if you're coming off the bench.
"He might well be quiet for 89 minutes if he starts but there might be that one bit of genius that he pops up with and on Tuesday night he popped up with a goal."
